Unseen Sketchbooks publishing produces archive editions, art prints, T-shirts and related artist designed items. We specialise in looking at, and reproducing archive material and rare insights into the creative process.

We are interested in hearing from other creatives, designers, artists and musicians who have an archive they would like to explore with us.

We produce an eclectic and thoughtful collection of works relating to the process and practices of contemporary design. We make books, often using screen printing and Risograph from our studio in the centre of Brighton and our rural retreat in Kent (UK).

Our editions range in size from short run zines through to 400 page monographs. We specialise in producing books with unique printing processes and exploring the book as an object. In addition we also run workshops and classes for educational institutions and organisations.

We believe the creative process is an important part of society and the documentation of this is critical for our development. We want all to enjoy the creative process and want to make printing as freely available as possible. We regularly run workshops at the Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft, where founding partner, Gavin Ambrose is a Trustee. Check the museums website for upcoming workshops.

We also run a series of online interviews with creatives and designers. The Unseen Sketchbooks publishing interviews can be viewed here:
