And There Will Be Dogs by Jochen Shievink
And There Will Be Dogs (2nd Edition) by Jochen Shievink is a Risograph book and A2 print published by Corners in 2022.
The edition is written and illustrated by German based Jochen Shievink features a series of ‘human-based’ scenarios replaced with dogs. Be it riding a bike, attending an art class, going to the therapist or having your fortune read. These re-imaginings remind us of the sometimes senseless preoccupations we have.
The book and print are Riso printed, so lots of colourful energy. The cover features an embossing and is finished in a Half-Canadian style wire bind, so the pages lay flat.
Jochen Shievink is well known for his editorial illustration and design work as well as book commissions and environmental graphics for a tram system in the city of Zürich, Switzerland and work for FC Bayern Magazin. Editorial commissions include work for Die Zeit and Der Spiegel in Germany and Falter magazine Vienna.
Jochen Schievink is an illustrator living and working in Hamburg Germany.
Unseen Sketchbooks are stocking a select amount of publications from Corners, in South Korea. They produce books with artists, illustrators and designers and have in-house Risograph printing. So expect lots of bright inks and great printing stocks. We are keen to collaborate with like-minded design and publishing houses around the world producing interesting and thought-provoking work. The aesthetic of the Riso print has been a staple of the modern illustrator for a number of years. The vibrancy of the ink and the ‘screen’ like process works well for simple and complex illustration alike, is is particularly suited to the work of Jochen Shievink.
